Introducing for July

The month of June brings one of the most revered Scottish artists to the forefront: Peter Graham, ROI RSW.

Newly elected into the Royal Society of Scottish Watercolourists, Peter's use of colour and vibrancy echos through each of his thoroughly individual paintings. A true painter's painter with a standalone and standout style that is emphatically unique.

A vivid impressionist, Peter Graham paints on the spot in a spontaneous manner inspired by the changing light conditions of the moment. “The idea of mood as integral to a painting is a romantic notion” he believes.

“Sunlight flickering within a scene brings excitement and atmosphere, allowing me to offer unconventional contrasts where colours can deliberately present emotion or feeling”.

Farmhouse Near Siena

Barlow Fine Art has recently acquired this beautiful work dating from 2004 and originally sold via the Bourne Gallery in Reigate.

This original work, depicting a facade of a Farmhouse near Siena, Italy is typical of a strong Barlow oil with wonderful provenance and in perfect condition.

70 x 80cm, Oil On Board

People tend to think of Rodney's work as “impressionistic” because of its finish, in which he wishes to show the way in which the clay is worked, and also to leave its completion to the imagination of the spectator.
