BIOGRAPHY

Emily Croft-Baker is a self-taught, British emerging contemporary artist who currently exhibits both nationally and internationally.

Painting mostly in oils and acrylics, she works out of Jason Martin Studios in Greater London. Jason has great belief in her work which is expressionistic, raw and powerfully evocative.

Emily painted and sold privately before becoming a full-time artist. She previously worked in a Global Private Equity firm as Sustainability & ESG manager.

Her passion for the environment clearly spilt over into her artwork but despite her successful role, she struggled to find her true voice and decided to dedicate herself to her art fully in 2017.

Since turning professional she has been given key exhibitions in Madrid, Salzburg and Jersey and has gained international notoriety for exhibiting both privately and publicly.

Her last collaboration during the Covid-19 Pandemic, saw Emily involved in Princess Beatrice’s art auction fundraiser for The Northwood African Education Foundation.

She featured alongside many other well respected artists and her piece ‘Hummingbird’ attracted one of the largest bidding frenzies of the exhibition, so much so that her name appeared alongside Sir Antony Gormley’s in 'Hello Magazine’ immediately after the auction.

Emily’s work is an emotional response to the hectic modern lives we lead. Her motivation is about pausing to reconnect with powerful universal energies that are often overlooked, with the intention of momentarily bringing respite from the constant activity, stimulation and sensory overload that affects us all day to day.

Whether it’s a landscape or a nude, all of her work addresses the four critical elements of Earth, Water, Air and Fire. She believes that these four energy forces sustain life and maintain balance, as well as physical and psychological well-being.
